Questions A Borrower Might Ask
1. WHO CAN APPLY FOR A LOAN?
Any established congregation that is an Independent Church of Christ/Christian Church in the State of Ohio [For a further definition, please see the Revised Plan For Administration tab, Section 1 – Definitions under Church and sub points (1) – (6)]. This document is available to you under the “Loans” tab. After you register, the link is available to you.
2. HOW DO WE QUALIFY FOR OBTAINING LOANS?
An application is completed (see “Loans” tab. Registration is required to get the application links) and either scanned and e-mailed to the Fund or mailed to the address shown in the Contact Information box. The application shows the information necessary for consideration by the Trustees of the Fund to grant loan approval.
3. WHAT ARE PERMITTED USES FOR LOAN FUNDS?
- Construction of church buildings
- Construction of classroom space
- Construction of fellowship halls
- Construction of structures appurtenant to the above
- Remodelling of any of the above and for parsonages
- Purchase of sound equipment
- Purchase of musical instruments
- Parking lot installations
- Parking lot repair
- Sewage system installations
- Sewage system repair
- Purchase of land
- General site development
4. WHAT USES ARE NOT PERMITTED?
- Operational funding
- Vehicle purchases
- Mechanical system repairs
5. HOW DO I APPLY FOR A LOAN?
To apply for a loan you will need to register in order to pull down one of the properly titled application forms. In addition, you will need to read the Revised Plan of Administration to insure you are a qualifying church. You will need to provide the documents referred to in the application along with the application form. 6. HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
If the Trustees are provided a complete application with the required documentation as listed in the application form, the loan can be analyzed and approved within thirty days.
7. WHAT SECURITY IS USED FOR LOANS?
All loans are required to be secured by a mortgage on the church building.
