History of the Fund

In December 1958, Joy Hunt prepared his will which would establish a revolving loan fund in the name of his father titled The John Russell Hunt Memorial Fund.

In the will, Joy names the original trustees to take on the task of setting up the fund and provides direction for the operation of the fund. Joy Hunt passed away in 1960.

Court challenges to the will were litigated over a period of time.

In 1967 the fund was approved by the Probate Court of Franklin County, Ohio.

The Trustees took on the liquidation of assets to provide cash to fund loans to be made to Church of Christ/Christian churches in the State of Ohio dedicated to the principles and concepts of The Restoration Movement.

• The first loan was made in 1969 on assets of $358,710.
• $9.1 million in loans have been made.
• The assets of the Fund have grown to $3 million.
